Jamaica Miles

Jamaica Miles is Chair of the Schenectady County Working Families Party and in our opinion has some appalling actions in her past. It’s hard to know where to start with this unhinged activist (and rumor has it former stripper). Perhaps we could start with her anti-police rant in Saratoga where she called for defunding the police and proudly declared the community does not need police at all. Or maybe we could discuss the time she got fired from Albany Med after she got arrested. Probably a big misunderstanding, but she was arrested after once again protesting - blocking traffic, including stopping a man who needed to get home to take his heart medication. A real winner folks. Yet another person in the swamp that doesn’t seem to care about public safety, crime, the police, an old man just trying to get home so he doesn’t have a heart attack. 

There are just so many bizarre opinions to unravel with Jamaica Miles. As though her takes on public safety were not bad enough,  as a member of the school board she actually argued against the use of metal detectors to make Schenectady schools safer and opposed School resource officers, despite fairly consistent violence in the community and the schools. They once made a movie called clueless, and Miles is life imitating art!

This is where we break from our programming to remind you that Ed Varno ran for Mayor with Jamaica Miles’ Working Families Party - and now with the Republican and Conservative Parties for City Council. We are sure the police-hating, anti school safety ideas will fit right in! These folks will make a dirty backroom political deal with anyone in order to keep the swamp alive!
